We bring the festival to a close with a programme of intimate chamber music from Vienna. The concert will also feature the London premiere of festival patron Michael Berkeley’s At A Solemn Wake, dedicated to the memory of his late wife, Deborah Rogers.
Join three exciting artists for a fascinating vocal programme exploring the musical partnerships of Brahms and Schumann, Poulenc and Britten, as well as those of several famous songwriting duos from the golden era of stage and screen.
A special exhibition from London Photo Festival forms a counterpoint to music for winds exploring the theme of ‘Youth Revisited’. Feel free to browse the exhibition whilst the mercurial Ensemble Perpetuo perform.
An interactive concert for the whole family. Get to know the instruments of the orchestra and find out how to tell stories in music!
A late-night recital of solo violin music at a relaxed canal-side location, featuring Bach’s monumental Ciaconna and the London premiere of one of Maxwell Davies’ last works, his Sonata for Violin Alone.
Pre-concert talk with BBC Radio 3’s Petroc Trelawny at 6.45pm.
The Berkeley Ensemble open the weekend with a new work by Toby Young alongside Beethoven’s ever-popular Septet and Howard Ferguson’s brooding and dramatic Octet.
